Founded in 1948 on a wooded 26-acre campus off Palace Road in Bengaluru, Mount Carmel was built on a simple idea: a school is a community of people thinking carefully together. We've held to it ever since.

Why we're here
Mount Carmel educates young women to think rigorously, act with integrity, and engage fully with the world. We do this in a community where teachers model what it looks like to take ideas — and each other — seriously.
Our graduates leave Mount Carmel as capable thinkers, generous collaborators, and lifelong learners. They go on to selective postgraduate programmes and meaningful work, but they're remembered here for who they were as members of the community.
